Emily Dickinson Dug Herbs

... In her garden and in her writing. I often wondered what kind of relationship Dickinson had with plants given her reclusive nature and the lyrical way she wrote about flora and fauna. Her book of poetry, above, features Indian Pipe (aka Ghost Pipe) on the cover and in several poems. The Emily Dickinson Museum in Amherst, MA, is currently working to restore her garden and greenhouse.
