Backyard Botany - Vermont Countryside June 14, 2015 Heidi Smith Wild Lupine, Lupinus Perennis I found these Lupines walking down the road in Rockingham, VT. Not much was abloom and these beauties were easy to see among the soft greens of spring. According to Culpepper the flowers are "governed by Mars in Aries." Hmm, not sure what that means but it sounds interesting. A little light research showed that the mature seeds do have medicinal application as a bitter and carminative. Gonna try adding them to a salad next time.
