What is Herbal Medicine?
Herbal medicine is the therapeutic application of plants for the purpose of healing. Food is also considered medicine in this context. I work collaboratively with my clients to create a wellness plan that may include various herbs and herbal applications, as well as dietary recommendations. Together, we may explore the interconnectedness of presenting physical symptomolgy, e.g. how chronic migraines may stem from a toxic relationship. With the aid of the plants, my intention is to help the whole self come into balance, with an emphasis on mental and emotional healing.
We are all part of a magnificent ecosystem, and much of the disease states we experience are a result of our mistreatment of/being out of balance with nature. I trust deeply in the co-creative healing process and the sacred relationship between people, the plant kingdom, and the Earth. I am passionate about engaging both the spiritual and scientific dimensions of the plant kingdom, and see herbal medicine as a radical way to promote ecological and social justice. Despite the ever-accelerating instability of our world, I believe in the resiliency and wisdom of the plants and people.
